About De Novo Geckos

De Novo Geckos was established in 2021 with one of the first crested geckos that I brought back home. Since then, I've fallen in love with the reptile keeping hobby. I've been fortunate to find many wonderful herps and helpful folks, and I hope to in turn produce high quality animals for the reptile community--both for breeders and for pet owners.

Baby Poo x Rue

Drippy red white wall project for mid 2022. Officially paired May 2022.Baby Poo (Shakey Tail Exotics, Sioux x Cheyenne) x Marionberry (Tara Leigh's Cresties, Sriracha x Secret).This is a match made in heaven. I honestly wish Baby Poo was a bit more red, but he has produced some really nice red kids in the past. Regardless, kids will have awesome patterns and interesting color progression.

Viral x Spice Girl

Red tricolor project for late 2022. Officially paired June 2022.Viral (Seraphic Crested Geckos, Carnage x Rosetta) x Spice Girl (Kate's Colorful Cresteds, Twinkletoes x Kreo).Viral is a black base tricolor, so I feel he will complement Spice Girl's pattern quite well. I'm crossing his clean dark base with her red base to hopefully get more reds, possibly brighter reds. At worst, maybe we'll get some dark base or brick red tri kids. Their structure should probably be above average.

Viral x Orchid

Dark base tricolor project for late 2022.Viral (Seraphic Crested Geckos, Carnage x Rosetta) x Orchid (KLW Reptiles, Meadow x Bane).My most anticipated pairing is between these two tricolors. The goal with this project is to produce black based babies with LOTS of white, LOTS of pattern, and LOTS of drippiness.

Butterfinger x Étouffée

Pinstripe project for spring 2022. Officially paired March 2022, and as of June 2022, we have two clutches.Butterfinger (Grim Geckos, Cinder x Joy) x Étouffée (J&H Exotics, Venom x Rogue).These two share many of the same traits: pinstriping, white walls and patterned upper lats. I'm hoping to amplify the regularity and coverage of their patterns, while also producing kids with Butterfinger's darker base. Butterfinger is now with another local breeder, but I'm expecting eggs from this girl soon.

Froyo x Sweet Tooth

Lavender project for 2022. Scrapped. Paired in March 2022, but sold adults and kept one clutch.Froyo (Grim Geckos, Mist x Chaos) x Sweet Tooth (Fringemorphs, Cookies & Cream x Mommy).Froyo is a nice lavender-base pinstripe who would bring some pattern regularity to Sweet Tooth's messy lats. Both geckos have a lavender-like base, so I'd expect lots of lavender kids. Maybe a few muddy or dark base kids as well. I've since parted with these two, but we have one clutch from this pairing in the incubator.
